National Nurses Week at Howard County General

To commemorate and thank our nurses for their amazing work and dedication, Howard County General Hospital celebrates National Nurses Week from May 6 -12.
Special events throughout the week will recognize nurses, including:
- Poster display: each nursing unit will create and display a poster highlighting their nationality and internationality
- Nurses are invited to wear their whites, cap and pin to work day
- Snacks provided for nurses on various shifts.
- Certified Nurses Day to recognize and promote certification
- An essay contest for nurses on the topic of “My Most Memorable Nursing Moment”
There also will be peer nominations for two collaboration awards: one commending physicians for their efforts in working effectively with nurses and the other commending nurses for collaborating
with physicians to create a work environment that provides the best care possible for our patients.
2010 is also the International Year of the Nurse and the 100th anniversary of the death of Florence Nightingale. HCGH joins hospitals around the nation as we congratulate the excellent nurses working in our communities.
Happy Nurses Day. So great to see nurses in white, if only for one day!
